The arena announcer barely finished shouting "BEGIN!" before Mimic was already moving, a blur of snarling fur and gnashing teeth streaking across the battlefield at speeds that shouldn't have been possible for something so small and, frankly, so dumb-looking. The crowd gasped as the vicious little dog closed the distance to the gleaming Interdimensional 2023 Ford Mustang in under two seconds flat, jaws wide, ready to sink teeth into whatever tire or bumper presented itself first. The Mustang, parked with an almost arrogant stillness, didn't even rev its engine in alarm. As Mimic leapt, head lowered for a devastating ramming bite to the front fender, the car's headlights flickered with a light that had no business existing in this dimension—a swirling violet-blue glow that bent the air around it. Mimic's bite connected with... nothing. Empty space. The dog sailed through where the Mustang's hood had been a half-second earlier, confusion flashing in its small, easily-distracted brain as it tumbled past. The Mustang had simply blinked away at light speed, reappearing twenty feet to the side with a sound like a thunderclap folding in on itself. Mimic, undeterred and possessing approximately zero tactical awareness, immediately spun around and charged again, barking with pure, chaotic enthusiasm. It didn't understand galaxies. It didn't understand black holes. It understood "thing exists, thing must be bitten," and that singular focus carried it forward again and again, each charge met with the Mustang simply not being where it used to be. Finally, the Mustang had had enough of playing keep-away. Its grille pulsed with dark energy, and a small, swirling black hole bloomed to life just beneath its chassis, humming with gravitational menace. Mimic, mid-charge, felt the pull too late—its little legs scrabbled uselessly against the ground as it was yanked helplessly toward the event horizon, yelping in surprised indignation rather than fear (it genuinely didn't have the brainpower to be afraid). With a soft *fwoop*, the vicious dog vanished into the singularity, spat out harmlessly (but very confused) somewhere in the parking lot outside the arena, tail still wagging out of pure reflex. The crowd erupted as the black hole closed with a shimmer, and the Mustang rolled forward triumphantly, engine purring with cosmic satisfaction. Mimic may have had ferocity and speed beyond measure, but ferocity alone cannot bite through the fabric of spacetime itself.
